No Spams Please

Frankly speaking no one likes to entertain the unwanted junk mails, spams and phone calls from various trojavascript:void(0)
Publish Postubled telemarketers. I am very fed up with those tons of spams and junk mails attacking my blog and my email everyday.

The job to clear all the junk mails is really wasting my time. If I just leave it there, I’m afraid it might be harmful to the entire operation of my computer. Recently, my colleague and I keep receiving junk mails saying that we are the lucky chosen one who won a huge sum of money. My colleague who was too curious, he replied the email and it resulted his computer need to go for re-format because too many viruses found subsequently.

So please do not call up these fraud phone calls and spams

And of course by avoiding these spams and junks we can actually
Save Trees and provide a better healthier environment.

Private practices

Sexual practices are highly varied in our society but some pose risks of infections.

EVERY person is different. People themselves also differ at different phases of their lives. In the same vein, there is much variation in sexual practices.

The practices described in this article are for information only. There may be religious, cultural, social or other reasons for acceptance or non-acceptance of any of the practices.

Foreplay

Petting is an American word that means “to stroke or caress”. It has the same meaning as foreplay, that is, something done prior to commencement of sexual intercourse. It refers to the stimulation of another person’s genital organs or breasts. This prepares the body for sexual intercourse.

Petting is useful for those who need to express their emotions and get sexual relief and who do not want to have sexual intercourse or whose circumstances do not permit it.

There is a small risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections (STI) if the petting involves oral sex but it is substantially less than that of the full course. The infections include herpes, gonorrhoea and even HIV.

In general, petting is very safe and if done skilfully, is vital for female sexual satisfaction.

DIY

Masturbation refers to sexual arousal and often orgasm resulting from manual stimulation of the genital organs. The term is commonly used to indicate self stimulation. However, the actual definition includes pleasuring by and of another person.

Masturbation was frowned on until the latter part of the 20th century and was widely considered as a sin. To some extent, this was influenced by doctors who did not approve of it with claims that it had terrible health consequences, which was all not evidence based.

Societies gradually became more tolerant of masturbation but negative connotations still persist although most experts today have a positive view of it. Some people, especially in Asia, believe that it drains the body of energy and may shorten one’s life span but there is no published evidence to support such a belief.

This practice is the one that most people learn first, quite instinctively. A baby boy learns that touching the penis makes him feel good even before he learns to talk. It is not surprising that most baby boys touch their penis a lot.

By the time of adolescence, the boy discovers that masturbation can lead to ejaculation and orgasm. Males masturbate mostly in their adolescent years with the frequency getting less as they get older.

Adolescent girls do not masturbate as boys do. Some girls discover at a young age that they get pleasant feelings from their genital organs.

Masturbation is one of the safest sexual practices. The only occasion when masturbation is unsafe is when potentially harmful objects like vacuum cleaners are used.

Oral

Oral sex refers to the use of the mouth, tongue, teeth and throat in stimulation of the genital organs.

Oral sex performed on a female is called cunnilingus and that on a male is called fellatio. The oral stimulation of the anus is called analingus.

Published data on the prevalence of oral sex is limited. However, a survey of more than 12,000 Americans in 2005 revealed that more than half of teenagers had practised oral sex.

Sexually transmitted infections (STI) can be transmitted through oral sex. They include human papilloma virus (HPV), herpes, hepatitis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and HIV. Although the risks are less than that of vaginal or anal sex, there are risks nevertheless. This is particularly so when the recipient of oral sex has wounds or open sores on their genital organs or the giving partner has wounds or sores on or in their mouth and/or oral cavity.

Activities that traumatise the mouth and/or oral cavity such as brushing or flossing teeth soon after giving oral sex increases the risk of contracting STI and other common infections in the genital organs.

By itself, oral sex cannot lead to pregnancy as there is no communication between the gastrointestinal and reproductive tracts. However, there is a potential risk if there is indirect contact between the male’s semen and the female genital organs. The use of condoms and/or dental dams will reduce the risk of infection considerably.

Penetration

Vaginal sex refers to the insertion of the erect penis into the vagina. It is the method practised by most heterosexual couples.

Some couples insert devices into the vagina as part of their sexual activities. This is not considered vaginal sex. Such practice is not to be encouraged as the devices can perforate the genital organs, damaging it and other internal organs.

During my career, I have had to remove such devices from the abdominal cavity and intestines. All the patients affected were not only physically traumatised but also psychologically.

Pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STI) are the common risks. There are many contraceptive choices to prevent unwanted pregnancy such as the pill, intra-uterine contraceptive device, injections and condoms.

The use of condoms will reduce the risk of STI. It is also used in addition to other contraceptive methods for this reason. The best method of preventing STI is to have a faithful sexual partner.

Rear entry

Anal sex refers to sexual activity involving the anus. The activities include inserting the penis into the partner’s anus, inserting a finger into the anus (postillionage), inserting the hand into the rectum (fisting), contact between the mouth and the anus (rimming) and inserting devices into the anus.

The anal area in males and females has a very extensive supply of nerves, which is probably the reason why some couples obtain pleasure from anal sex. The common perception that anal sex is practised solely by homosexual men is not accurate. It is estimated that about a third of gays do not practise anal sex and that about 10% of heterosexual couples regularly practise anal sex. According to the Durex 2005 Sex Survey, 19% of Malaysian respondents had experienced anal sex as compared to 35% globally.

There are many people who view the various types of anal sex, especially anal intercourse, with disgust. The objections may be religious, cultural or personal. While some people find anal sex repulsive, there are others who find it stimulating and part of their routine sexual activity.

The risks of contracting sexually transmitted infection and other infections of the lower genital tract are increased in anal sex. The infections include human papilloma virus (HPV), herpes, hepatitis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and Escherichia coli. The risks are much more than oral sex.

In fact, anal sex is the commonest mode of transmission of HIV in many countries. HPV and HIV infections transmitted during anal intercourse predispose the affected individual to other infections, and in the case of HPV, the development of cancer of the anus as well.

The best way of avoiding the risks of anal sex is to avoid it altogether. There are other sexual practices that are just as pleasurable. However, some couples may still practice anal sex regardless. It is advisable to use condoms, especially toughened ones designed for anal intercourse, and water soluble lubricants which may provide some protection. Other safety measures include: ensuring that the anal area is clean and the bowels have emptied; and the recipient must be able to relax the anal sphincter.

Will cheap gas mean a return to gas-guzzling ways?

Prices at the pump in the US are dropping fast, and gas could fall below US$3 a gallon in a matter of weeks, if not sooner. Does that mean Americans will return to their heedless, gas-guzzling ways?

Experts say no because most drivers assume the dip in prices will be short-lived, and motorists have adjusted their habits accordingly.

"We've been through almost eight years of continuously rising gasoline prices," AAA spokesman Geoff Sundstrom said. "Any notion that this is a temporary thing has pretty well been erased."

New technologies are emerging fast, with electric cars expected to hit the market in a couple years. But the question is no longer when gas prices will fall, but when will the next spike come?

"Everywhere you go, be it the store, the diner, whatever, you hear people talking about their gas costs and how they need to cut back, said David Robinson, 67, while a friend filled up in Lakewood, New Jersey "You still hear it, even though gas keeps dropping."

Even automakers that have long relied on big trucks for profits are moving in a new direction.

Ford Motor Co is changing from a truck to a car company in North America. General Motors Corp is closing four factories that make pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. It will also open a new plant to make four-cylinder engines for the Chevrolet Volt electric car and Chevrolet Cruze compact.

The shift in consumer behavior was noted by AAA in Dec last year, when vehicle miles traveled began to slip. Regular gasoline had just risen above US$3 a gallon during a month when gas prices usually fall.

By July, regular unleaded gasoline set a record national average of US$4.11 a gallon.

The slackening demand for fuel is backed up by industry analysts, who say there has not been such a drastic shift in driving behavior in decades. Demand for gasoline dropped 6% over a couple months.

"For most of this decade, we've seen uncertainty manifest itself in the oil markets" in terms of supply," said Tom Kloza, publisher and chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service in Wall, New Jersey. "This is probably the most depressive period" consumers have seen in a generation.

Gas prices fell again Friday to a national average of US$3.35. Prices dipped below US$3 a gallon on average in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. If crude keeps falling, the rest of country should see gasoline selling for less than US$3 in the next few weeks or sooner, experts say.

In the Denver suburb of Wheat Ridge, Clarke Soule paid US$3.31 a gallon to fill his Lincoln Navigator. The self-described ultra-conservative blames the high prices on drilling bans on the outer continental shelf and in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

"I worked 47 years for AT&T, and when I want to buy something, I buy it," said Soule, 65.

For many Americans, the big car is too ingrained as a way of life to let go, said Kit Yarrow, a Golden Gate University psychologist who researches the effects of oil prices on consumer behavior.

"Driving is just so central to their lives, their feelings of freedom and so on, that they're to going to do what they're going to do," she said.

But for most other drivers, that way of thinking has been abandoned.

"People kind of understand now what their foot on the pedal means in terms of money," she said.

Bob Gomez, a state employee in Colorado, has begun to car pool.

In Los Angeles, artist Shahla Kareen gave up her 2007 BMW 530i sedan in July for a 1978 Mercedes fueled with waste vegetable oil. She pays US$1 a gallon.

"I would spend US$75 to US$100 to fill up my tank per week with the BMW," Kareen said. "Now I spend maybe US$20 a week."

There have been broad changes across entire industries as well.

Cruise lines have altered routes to save fuel. UPS Inc and the US Postal Service are turning to alternative-fuel vehicles, and UPS plans to use biodiesel at its Kentucky air hub. Airlines are shifting to more fuel-efficient planes.

Industry analysts say gas could fall as low as US$2.50 to US$2.75 a gallon, but many see that as a temporary pause before prices rise again.

Analyst Stephen Schork said that any return to more liberal use of fuel would occur a long time from now because consumers are already making big-ticket decisions about what cars they will drive.

In Sept, consumers continued shifting from trucks and SUVs to cars, with car sales representing 52% of the market. Sales of Ford's top-selling F-series pickup trucks fell 42%.

David Portalatin, an automotive industry analyst for the NPD Group, said research has shown both short-term and long-term behavior changes that will continue for an extended period regardless of the gas price.

"Consumers don't have a lot of faith that the price will come down and will stay there for very long," he said. "Today's consumer is more thoughtful about overall finances."

Dream Job?

I'm always curious whether a medical student is always found to be a nerd or geek? Or is it in any ways that exteriorly we look nerdy? Big question there.

Had a discussion with our Polyclinic teacher today about different joint diseases, including Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, two most common disease of the joints.

We had sessions with the Rheumatologist too, who has a medical assistant following her with the routine patient clerking.

And I've recently found out that there are medical assistant school which offers courses with good accreditation and good rewards.

According to the United States Department of Labor, "medical assistant employment is projected to grow much faster than average, ranking medical assisting among the fastest growing occupations over the next decade. Job opportunities should be excellent, particularly for those with formal medical assistant training."

We are now offering formal training online with our nationally accredited and certified Medical Assistant program. Our program will allow you to study online at your own pace and convenience. Most students complete the program in about 6-8 weeks. However, you can take as long as needed. There are no deadlines or time limits and our medical assistant training program is very affordable.

Stem Cell. What is that?

What’s in a name? It’s a lot when it comes to stem cells, cancer and stem cell therapy.

I NEED you to pay close attention as I differentiate stem cell therapy for cancer from killing cancer stem cells in this article.

It is very important. I want you to avoid being duped or having your hopes unrealistically raised. Please read carefully and understand the difference between “stem cell therapy”, which means using stem cells to treat cancer, and “killing cancer stem cells”, which means using some form of treatment to kill an important subset of cancer cells called cancer stem cells.

If you have come so far, congratulations! It means you have in you the quest to understand more about cancer and to be careful about words and phrases that sound similar. You do not want to be taken for a ride by people with commercial interests who fudge and obfuscate issues.

“Stem cell therapy” for cancer applies only to 150 to 200 patients out of 45,000 patients diagnosed to have cancer every year in Malaysia. Almost all these 150 patients suffer from leukaemia or lymphoma.

Stem cell therapy has two purposes for such patients. The first is to repopulate the bone marrow with haematopoietic stem cells (stem cells that give rise to blood cells) after high dose chemotherapy which renders the bone marrow non-functional.

The second reason for stem cell therapy is to boost the immune system of the patient to fight cancer by enhancing the “graft vs host” reaction. In this case, stem cells are obtained from a donor (a sibling, a close relative).

Another very infrequent use of stem cell therapy in cancer is in the salvage treatment of germ cell cancer and metastatic kidney cancer. This situation occurs less than 10 times a year in our country.

The message is loud and clear: Stem cell therapy at present has absolutely no role in the treatment of 90% of cancers, and that includes breast, lung, colorectal, liver, nasopharyngeal, cervical, stomach and brain tumours. Stem cell therapy may have a role in the future (unlikely), but so do many therapies under investigation.

Let us move on to killing cancer stem cells as a cancer treatment. This could be the next big thing in cancer treatment. Or it could be a dud. It is too early to tell. We just have to be patient and let the researchers carry on with their work.

If I am still writing this column five or 10 years from now, I shall either say “killing cancer stem cells is the standard of care in cancer treatment” or “killing cancer stem cells has failed to live up to its initial promise and should be relegated to the bin of false starts!”

The point is this: cancer research starts at the “bench” (laboratory studies) and ends up at the “bed” (actual pills and injections for treating cancer patients). This process usually takes 10 to 20 years. We are just at the beginning of the research to identify and kill cancer stem cells.

A quick primer on cancer stem cells. Cancer cells are now known to be either cancer stem cells or cancer cells which are not stem cells. Perhaps it is the cancer stem cells which are the true culprits that eventually maim and kill. These cells are capable of indefinite reproduction to produce daughter cancer cells ad infinitum.

Our present ways of treating cancer €“ radiotherapy, chemotherapy, molecularly targeted therapy €“ attack all cancer cells irrespective of whether they are cancer stem cells or not. We fail to cure cancer in some cases. Is it because we did not completely eliminate all cancer stem cells?

One of the politicians I admire most is Indira Gandhi. She was the 5th (1966 to 1977) and 8th (1980 to 1984) Prime Minister of India. She was a shrewd politician whatever her detractors may say.

She was often asked what it was like to be the daughter of Mahatma Gandhi. In response she would often just smile demurely. We know of course she was not a blood relative of the Mahatma but the political mileage of this association was enormous. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. She was married to Feroze Gandhi, which of course made her Indira Gandhi.

Lesson for the week: Similar sounding names can be bewitching, confusing and misleading. Many practitioners with vested interest would neither confirm nor deny the unsuspecting public’s vague thoughts abut stem cell treatment for cancer.

The next time someone mentions something about stem cell and cancer, pin her down and ask her: is it “stem cell therapy for cancer” or “therapy to kill cancer stem cells?”

Both are not (with the exceptions mentioned) yet standard treatment for cancer.

Rome workers uncover city of dead

ROME, Italy (AP) -- Workers renovating a rugby stadium have uncovered a vast complex of tombs beneath Rome that mimic the houses, blocks and streets of a real city, according to officials, who have unveiled a series of new finds.

Culture Ministry officials said Thursday that medieval pottery shards in the city of the dead, or necropolis, show the area may have been inhabited by the living during the Dark Ages after being used for centuries for burials during the Roman period.

It is not yet clear who was buried in the ancient cemetery, but archaeologists at the still partially excavated site believe at least some of the dead were freed slaves of Greek origin.

"It's a matter of a few weeks to discover what is down there," said archaeologist Marina Piranomonte. "But it's something big; it looks like a neighborhood."

A separate dig in the north of the city has turned up the tomb of a nobleman who led Rome's legions in the second century A.D.

The mausoleum was covered in mud during a flood of the river Tiber, which collapsed most of the monument but helped preserve exquisite decorations, marble columns and inscriptions from plunderers and the ravages of time.

Writings at the site led experts to identify the tomb as belonging to Marcus Nonius Macrinus, one of the closest aides and generals of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius during his campaigns against Germanic tribes in Northern Europe.

Other spectacular discoveries were also unveiled at the news conference at the Culture Ministry.

Archaeologists restoring the imperial residences on the Palatine Hill, in the heart of ancient Rome believe they have discovered the underground passageway in which the despotic Emperor Caligula was murdered by his own guards.

The hill, which his honeycombed with ruins of palaces and villas, has also yielded frescoes and black-and-white mosaics in the first century B.C. home of a patrician, the ministry said in a statement.

Separately, experts working in Castel di Guido on the outskirts of Rome have enlarged their dig at a previously known complex of country villas owned by Rome's rich and powerful, uncovering fountains, baths and a cistern, the statement said.

Archaeologists will keep working at the digs to make them accessible to visitors. Officials plan to build a museum next to Macrinus' tomb, which will also offer a virtual reconstruction of the site.

Panama City

Today our group mates went out on a photo taking session. Was all fun and we did take crazy and interesting pictures.

Since it's going to be our last year here in Russia, we all decided to take silly pictures with different postures. However, we did had a nice time.

Hotel-view01-old

Anyways, I've been so into the series Prison Break, and that the new season 4 is out now. Anyone of you into it also? Season 3 was quite nice when they shot the scenes in Panama City.

Panama is a beautiful country with big opportunities for investment and a second home purchase in one of the fastest growing real estate markets in the world. For more information you can Register for an eBrochure Here

Yeah so how's the view? Extravagant isn't it? By the way, if you're thinking of some guides to where the interesting and beautiful spots are in Panama, I have a good tip to start off.

You can start by visiting the Casco Antiguo region of Panama - good scenery and investment opportunities.

And also specifically to Hotel Casco Antiguo - it is a condo hotel in the region and for business purposes, they are searching for those who may be interested in registering to purchase at the condo hotel.

Brain cells start to grow

A new study suggests that seniors who line dance, play bridge or a musical instrument may be doing more than just having fun: They may be warding off the risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer’s, a progressive brain disease which afflicts four million Americans.

People who played the hardest gained the most. For example, seniors who did crossword puzzles four days a week had a 47% lower risk of dementia than those who did puzzles once a week.

Line dancing also offered a hedge against dementia because it forces the brain to work and the body parts to coordinate. Any mentally challenging activity like learning a new dance step might spur the brain to establish new connections or perhaps to grow new brain cells. The extra brain power may compensate for any loss of brain cells that could result from Alzheimer’s.

According to the Keiser Institute on Aging, by the year 2010, those in the 55-74 age group will outnumber 25-34-year-olds by 18 million. Statistics show 800,000 individuals are turning 65 every month with China, the US and UK leading the pack.

More ageing-related health problems are expected to surface around the world. So, do something to keep your brain active and protect yourself against future memory loss.

LASIK Technology

Just recently a friend of mine did a LASIK procedure on his eyes.
Practically he has a severe degree of myopia and then it became better and he has a better eyesight now.

According to him, the procedure was a minor and not painful one. Though it really costs him quite a sum of money. However, nowadays you can find better LASIK technology with lots of improvements and good techniques.

Today NASA and the U.S. military increase the performance of mission-critical personnel using laser vision correction technologies that have benefited civilians for more than five years. An all-laser form of LASIK has been tapped by the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA to improve the vision of specialized personnel facing extreme, physically demanding conditions. “The DOD and NASA have validated the fact that today’s LASIK exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness,” said Steven Schallhorn, M.D., a retired U.S. Navy captain and leader of clinical research and studies done for the DOD regarding the use of LASIK.

Modern LASIK, known as the iLASIK™ Procedure, uses two lasers instead of one, as in earlier versions of the procedure. In the first stage of iLASIK, wave-front technology maps the unique characteristics of the individual’s eyes. Then, an ultrafast, computer-guided laser creates a corneal flap. This laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade used in older forms of LASIK and makes the procedure exceptionally safe. After the flap is created, the wave-front mapping data guides a second laser for vision correction. The combination of these advanced laser technologies creates a custom-fit procedure clinically proven to provide excellent safety and visual results.

For more LASIK information , you can always check out the website here. There are excellent information and results.

Some notable results of the military’s evaluation of modern LASIK in 100 military personnel showed that 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. When asked, 100% of naval aviators having undergone the procedure would recommend the surgery to other naval aviators. According to Dr. Schallhorn, “technologically speaking, there is no better time than now to join the over 12 million Americans who have benefited from LASIK."

Choosing the right spectacles

1. Some spectacle frames make me look ridiculous. I have a squarish face and am wondering what frame shape will suit me?

Sunglasses are a favoured fashion accessory among many people. However, many people commit a giant fashion faux-pas and choose sunglasses that are not shaped well for their face. If you have a square face, choose frames that are round or oval in shape. These shapes help soften angular features that most people with a square face often have.

Similarly, with a round face, choose sunglasses that have rectangular or square shaped frames. These frames help to minimize the fullness of the face and help add definition.

People with heart shaped face, who often have high, broad foreheads and a very narrow jaw line, will need to choose frames that are thin, such as wire frames or aviator frames, to help draw attention away from the forehead and jaw area.

If you have an oval shaped face you are in luck! Almost any style frame works well with an oval face, so it's a matter of experimenting and determining which style frame you enjoy the most.

2. Do I need to take into consideration the colour of my skin tone when choosing frames?

Choose frames in a colour that enhance your skin tone. Warm-toned faces often look good framed in warm colours, such as gold or brown. Cool skin tones can benefit from frames of a cool colour, like blue. Be sure to match the frame colour to your face and not your clothes.

3. My friends are all wearing glasses and it is an "in thing" now to them. I feel left out from all my friends just because I do not know how to choose the right glasses. Whenever I choose one it makes me look nerdy. Any tips?

Most companies that make stylish clothes also make glasses, so look in department stores and eyeglass boutiques for chic frames. Pick glasses that fit your sense of style. If you are a rocker, go with dark, edgy frames. If you are into soft music, go with the classic thick-framed tortoise-shell or dark wood frames. Flaunt your frames with outfits that don't look traditional or nerdy. Throw your glasses on with a pair of designer jeans or even a dress! Stretching your fashion boundaries will make you look confident and hot!

4. I am an outdoor person. I'd like to get something to protect my eyes and at the same time look fashionable, can you give me some advice?

Get a pair of stylish sunglasses. Make sure your lenses protect against UVA and UVB rays. Avoid wearing clip-on sunglasses and transition frames. Another option to consider would be wraparound lenses.

Wraparound lenses offer the best protection, because they block light on the sides and provide extra protection from dust and dirt.

5. Other than lenses and colour, what are the other elements I should be concerned with when choosing spectacles or sunshades?

The material of the frame is also very important. Frames are made from different materials. Metal frames are easy to adjust and are not likely to interfere with your vision, but they are usually more expensive and less durable than frames made from other materials.

Nylon frames are inexpensive, lightweight and durable, but are not likely to be adjustable. Acetate frames are often found on stylish glasses and come in a great variety of colours. Whatever frames you choose, make sure your glasses rest evenly on your face.

Crooked frames look dorky, and people will definitely notice. Keep your frames and lenses polished and clean. If either of them breaks, take them back to the optometrist and get them repaired. Don't walk around for weeks wearing spectacles held together by masking tape.

Dreading Acnes

Acne can sometimes be very annoying.

I've seen a good treatment option on the internet.

This is quickly becoming the #1 selling and best treatments for acne on the internet. It is a 1-step, all natural acne treatment, and customers absolutely love the results. Most reviews of the product mention how amazing their skin looks and feels after using it, not to mention how effective the product is in clearing up the worst cases of acne.

The best part is that it's incredibly easy to use (only 1-step). It exfoliates, penetrates, and hydrates with one pump, not 3 messy and very affordable for those on a tight budget.
