Chelsea ended their Asian Tour yesterday from Malaysia.

English Premier League giants Chelsea wrapped up their Asian Tour in style after carving out a 2-0 win over a Malaysia Selection in front of some 50,000 fans at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.

The stadium was a sea of blue as Chelsea fans came out in droves to catch a glimpse of their favourite team ahead of the new EPL season.

The Malaysian had little to offer but can still hold their heads high after conceding just two goals, compared the thrashing Chelsea’s previous two opponents – Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals (4-0) and Shengdu Blazers (7-0) – received last week.

Helmi had also stopped Anelka’s low grounder in the 16th minute and Michael Essien’s shot from inside the box in the 23rd minute.

Big Phil then made four changes at the start of the second-half, bringing in Alex for Ricardo Carvalho, Ashley Cole for Wayne Bridge, Florent Malouda for Cole and Paulo Ferreira for Shaun Wright Philips.

At the half-way mark of the second-half, Scolari fielded Andriy Shevchenko for Deco, Carlo Cudicini for Cech and Franco Di Santo for Anelka.

Cole had barely been on the pitch when he made his presence felt, connecting Lampard’s pass into goal in the 54th minute.

In the end, it turned out to be an entertaining fare for the fans and a good experience for the Malaysian boys ahead of their preparations for the Merdeka Tournament in October and the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Championships in December.

Zulkifli Nordin, the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) MP from the Kulim-Bandar Baharu constituency said that he is ready to make way for PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim even if the court rules the election petition in his favour. He said “Even if the court maintains the March 8 election results and decides that I am the rightful MP, I will still vacate the seat for Anwar to contest. To me this is a small sacrifice I am making for the future of the nation because the country is going through a tough time and only Anwar can set things right,”

What is Alzheimer's?

Alzheimer's disease (AD), also called Alzheimer disease or simply Alzheimer's, is the most common type of dementia. The cause and progression of Alzheimer's disease are not well understood. Research indicates that the disease is associated with plaques and tangles in the brain. No treatment has been found to stop or reverse the disease, and it is not known whether current treatments slow the progression, or simply manage the symptoms. Mental stimulation, exercise and a balanced diet are often recommended, both as a possible prevention and as a sensible way of managing the disease.

Saiful's dad wants Anwar to cooperate and not delay probe

KUALA LUMPUR: The father of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's former aide has urged Anwar to give his DNA sample to expedite investigations.

Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s father Azlan Mohd Lazim said Anwar should stop giving excuses and refusing to cooperate with the police.

Azlan’s statement was read out by Mohd Saiful's lawyer, Zamri Idrus, at a press conference here yesterday. Azlan was not present.

Azlan said the family was angry and sad that Anwar was not giving his full cooperation to the police.

“Anwar should stop giving excuses,” he said, adding that Mohd Saiful was ready to swear to the truth according to Islamic ways after the police had completed the investigations.

“Most importantly, we urge the authorities to bring the involved party to justice soon,” Azlan said.

Asked why Mohd Saiful and Azlan were not present at the press conference, Zamri said it was not the time for Mohd Saiful to meet the press.

“Mohd Saiful is in a safe place and under police protection and not under police custody,” said Zamri who declined to comment whether he was still in the country.

On whether he had met Mohd Saiful recently, Zamri said he met him a few days ago and his client was in good spirits.

On allegations that pictures of Mohd Saiful posing with ministers suggested he had conspired with them over the sodomy allegations, Zamri said the pictures did not prove anything because people could take photographs anywhere they wanted and Mohd Saiful was a student leader and met ministers at forums.

On why Mohd Saiful lodged a police report only after being sodomised several times, he replied: “How do you know? I also don’t know because this is still under investigation. I am confident of his statement but it should not be linked with the police investigation.”

Zamri said he would defend Mohd Saiful in a civil suit filed by Anwar and would hold a watching brief if there was a criminal trial.

On whether Saiful was gay, he said “no” and declined to comment whether he was forcibly sodomised.

Zamri declined to reveal the content of Mohd Saiful’s police report, saying he did not have a copy although he had seen it.

On whether Mohd Saiful was traumatised, an uncle of Mohd Saiful, known as Uncle Pet, said they would depend on Allah and His strength.

Been at home for quite some time now.

In the UK, Germany, and France the Internet has about double the influence of television when it comes to consumer decision making according to the Digital Influence Index, a study done by Fleishman-Hillard and Harris Interactive.

The study found that consumers use the Internet in a number of ways to make decisions.

Consumers are more likely to seek opinions of others by visiting social media and product rating sites when making choices that have a major personal impact.

Consumers will visit company branded sites when making transactional decisions on items, such as airline tickets or utilities. While consumers see the benefits of the Internet in their lives, they continue to have concerns about online safety and the trustworthiness of some online information. In the UK, 66 percent of online consumers say the Internet helps them to make better decisions, but only 28 percent trust the information companies provide online.

Most of the survey results were consistent across all three countries, use of the Internet did reveal national differences. Germany leads the three countries in online research, while the UK

Internet users are the most likely to have profile on a social networking site. The French are more likely to use the Internet to find listings and directions and to read blogs.

The study found more than 80 percent of online consumers in each country use the Internet to do comparison-shopping for major purchases. More than 75 percent go online to manage bank accounts and over two-thirds use the Internet to keep track of current events or politics.

"The research shows that the Internet stands out as the most important communications medium in the lives of European consumers today", said Dave Senay, president and chief executive officer of Fleishman-Hillard.
