Electrical goods

Although I do presentations from time to time, my primary reason for buying the projector was to use as a large screen TV - 52"? Paltry. Mine is more than 10 feet diagonally! The projector is higher resolution than the standard, 1024 * 768, which adds surprisingly to the image quality. It DOES accept HDMI, and does a good job of aliasing the image down. Warm up time to on is surprisingly short, and the brilliance enough to compete with daylight. But the big one: the bulb life.

The older projectors don't just have a 2000
projector bulbs life - THEY CUT YOU OFF AT 2000 hours, and insist you replace it, even if it is still working. A three year old projector bulb is as much as this entire unit! Epson say this bulb is good for about 5000 hours - I'll let you know in another 4,940 hours if it is true. I am VERY impressed with the unit. I was a trifle disappointed that keystoning correction is only verticle, but a small price indeed. This unit is well worth the $.

Final note: if you are running HDMI, go through the menus and make sure it is pulling the signal through the HDMI port! Often people plug in to standard NTSC ports as well, and then judge the HDMI when they aren't looking at it. The menu is pretty easy.
